The Ombudsman is a law office case management software package for general docket and correspondence control. In addition to tracking clients and cases, it includes a docket control system with integrated timekeeping and a correspondence generator and tracking system. Because the author is an attorney who practices Social Security disability law, it includes a number of features to aid in administrative or litigation practice. The Ombudsman is based on Omnis 7, a high end database system used primarily in the corporate world by such companies as American Express, Eastman Kodak, Polaroid, PacTel, Martin Marietta, Monsanto, Sprint & US West. Harvard & MIT are also Omnis 7 users. Originally designed & developed (starting in 1986) by a lawyer to assist in the efficient management of a law practice, the Ombudsman has been available commercially since 1990. The Ombudsman is a stable, well established product, being used daily in law offices throughout the United States. The bottom line - it's got the power and flexibility to automate and manage your case load now - and the depth to expand with you as your practice grows.
